Walking home from work I picked up a set of barbells a neighbour had sent to the curb. As I passed the fellow who lives next door to her I got a nod of approval. I gave him my broadest smile, even as I suspected we had very different visions of the future for those weights.
I popped one of the weights onto the top of an upcycled wood lamp base and my smallest cloche on top – perfect fit.
Barbell weights come in two – and my fishbowl cloche fit just as perfectly on the 2nd weight.
I’m thinking décor for a brunch with workout buddies or the family weightlifter.
What a wonderful idea!! Never would have thought of this!

Endless potential, huh? I have two smaller ones that I think will make great hotpads for pots of chilli or stew, coasters for beer steins… and on and on…. Candle holders (although I don’t have candles at the moment that are the right size, but you get the idea…)

Donna I really like the cloches, I’m loving the cookie cutter handle on the top… great idea!

Thank you! The one with the cookie cutter – it’s a fish bowl I got from a neighbour’s recycling bin on garbage day. There are about 6 – 10 people who go up and down the streets on garbage day taking refundable bottles and cans. I leave that stuff and take things like fish bowls.
